NoRedInk Blog Submission Guidelines

At NoRedInk, we strive to give students the writing skills they need to thrive both in school and beyond. We couldn’t accomplish this without extensive help from educators, whose voices play a pivotal role in shaping how we approach our work.

As a way to promote conversation among these important voices, we welcome submissions to our blog from educators across the K-12 community. Whether you’re a teacher, paraprofessional, instructional coach, administrator, or anyone else who spends their time immersed in education, we encourage you to share your insights and experiences with NoRedInk’s readership.

We’re likely to consider submissions that touch on topics like:

  • Fresh, creative approaches to teaching English
  • Writing across the curriculum
  • Educational equity
  • Social-emotional learning
  • Classroom management

We’re unlikely to consider:

  • Research reviews
  • Inflammatory op-eds
  • Straightforward news coverage
  • Press releases

As a general rule, submissions should be between 600 and 1,200 words. They should be written in an approachable but professional style, should be aimed at an audience of practicing educators, and must be your original work and exclusive to the NoRedInk blog. Formal citations aren’t required, but please include links to any data, quotations, or published works you reference. Note that NoRedInk’s editorial team reserves the right to edit accepted submissions for style, formatting, and consistency.

Please email your submission as an attachment (Word Document, Google Document, or PDF highly preferred) to submissions@noredink.com along with the following information:

  • Full name
  • Job title
  • School/district/organization

Due to the volume of submissions we receive, we can only respond to writers whose work we’re interested in publishing. If we think your submission is a good fit for the NoRedInk blog, we’ll reach out via email within two weeks of your submission date with next steps.

We look forward to reading your work!
